Rising Above The Devestation

The inner city lower class state of living is detrimental to the youth growing up within the communities. We all know the problems, but few actually try to affect the circumstances. Those within the community identify with the struggle and want more, so they follow the any means necessary method. Some believe that what they are is who they are, I do not believe this to be true. It is your situation that influences your mentality, but it is your drive towards improvement and advancement that make the difference between staying in your current situation or rising above it. Those placed in situations where they have the opportunity to help should not hesitate to do so. Where you have been only tells of your journey, where you go will be your make on the world. To all those in the struggle, fight to rise above it, do not give up because with drive comes opportunity.

How to Implement Change

The key factors in implementing change: Identifying, Initiation, and Reinforcement.
In order to begin making a change within the community we must figure out what are the issues we can improve, and where we can start to implement future strategies. Identifying the pressing issues are vital in the establishment of a sound foundation for improvement.
Initiating the planned strategies within the certain communities shows true dedication towards the cause for greater good, but are the leaders within the community that can get the attention of the people to put the work in to manifest the change.
Reinforcement makes sure follow through occurs. Planting a tree is good for the community, but if the tree is not fertilized, watered and taken care of, then the seed we plant may very well wither away. Setting goals on a time line and sticking to the time line will give accurate forecast of progress. Developing working solutions, staying to the course, and showing honest drive towards accomplishment demonstrates effective leadership.

Leadership Within The Black Community

Leadership within the black community, although seemingly non-existant, lives through local influence, although not the kind of leadership we all have hoped for. The leadership has trasfered from the church committee, politics, and black empowerment groups to the local drug dealer, gang leaders and basketball stars. What has to happen in order for leadership to transfer, is for someone who can identify with the struggle to rise up and take the leadership back. The youth have been programmed through television and advertisement to place priority on sold products and services, emphasizing instant gratification. Someone must be able to grab and hold the attention of the youth in order to cause a change.

Arizona Papers

It is an injustice that the state of Arizona decides to take the confederate stance in most cases! The state of Arizona now decides that the authorities have the right at any moment to stop any person and as them for their papers proving US citizenship. This type of injustice directly ties with the black community because of the history of Arizona and their stand against whats right. It was not that long ago that Arizona as a state decided not to celebrate MLK day as a holiday! Asking for freedom papers should have been abolished with slavery, yet if we ALLOW to them to take advantage they will. We must be conscious of their manipulation of the law because who ever controls law, controls the masses (for we the masses are to abide by the law). Open your eyes Black America, do not let your rights become out of sight, and out of mind.
